Former Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey, who authored a 2-14 debacle in 2012 in only season with the team, was named the Tennessee Titans' interim head coach today.
Mularkey replaces Ken Whisenhunt, who was fired after going 2-14 last year and 1-7 this year (seven straight losses).
Mularkey, who was the assistant head coach-tight ends coach, will face the Jaguars twice this year -- Nov. 19 in Jacksonville and Dec. 6 in Nashville.
The Titans blocked Mularkey from interviewing for offensive coordinator openings after last year and gave him a promotion to assistant head coach. He sat out the 2013 season, living in the Jacksonville area, while still getting paid by the Jaguars.
