Jaguars coach Gus Bradley ignored his general philosophy by electing to take possession after winning the toss. He usually defers so he can start the third quarter with the football. But the result was the same — no points. The Jaguars went three-yard run, incomplete pass and sack on their first possession. In the first quarter, the Jaguars managed no points and only 14 yards. In 16 games this year, the Jaguars scored 35 points. Total. That’s it. Things didn’t get any better after the first quarter. As quarterback Blake Bortles said of Sunday’s game: “I don’t know if I’d call this one a slow start as much as I’d just call it a slow game.
