Andrew Motley loves football.
But living with cerebral palsy and pulmonary disease has meant his dreams of hitting the gridiron have been very limited until Thursday.
That’s when the Jacksonville Jaguars signed him to a special one-day contract, and after a tour of EverBank Field the 15-year-old Sandalwood High School student joined the action with the NFL in practice.
Motley weighed just over a pound when he was born. His disorder affects coordination between his body and the muscles, making it difficult to walk or run. He now has a pump implanted in his abdomen to dose him with Baclofen, which treats muscle spasm, pain and stiffness caused by multiple sclerosis.
