'Disruptive' senior season helped DT Sheldon Day catch eye of Jaguars

When Sheldon Day chose to return to Notre Dame for his senior season, this had to be what he had in mind:

Increase his production.

Grab the attention of NFL teams looking for a defensive tackle who can clog the line of scrimmage.

Get drafted.

So far, so good.

Impressed by his play leading the Irish defense and intrigued by his explosiveness, the Jaguars added Day in the fourth round (pick No. 103) of last weekend’s draft that was spent replenishing the team’s defense with young talent.

“There is no quitting in this kid,” said Paul Roell, the Jaguars’ assistant director of college scouting.
