LONDON | The first two years for Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell were difficult to endure. He knew the roster was talent deficient and the good players he had drafted were young, which brings the usual inconsistencies.
This year is worse, though.
The Jaguars enter Sunday’s game against Buffalo at Wembley Stadium with a 1-5 record, including three consecutive squandered second-half leads.
“It’s much harder than the first two years because you can taste victory and feel victory,” Caldwell said. “I think that’s both encouraging and disheartening at the same time.”
Encouraging because the Jaguars put themselves in position to win games, particularly on offense; disheartening because they’ve lost to a 40-year old quarterback (Matt Hasselbeck), a rookie quarterback (Jameis Winston) and a journeyman quarterback (Brian Hoyer) … in the last three weeks.
