Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles regressed in a big way 2016 in terms of deep passing, as his rating of 17.5 on deep throws was last among 34 eligible quarterbacks.
Watson’s passer rating on deep throws ranked 12th among 2017 draft-eligible quarterbacks at 110.6, which was a big improvement from his sophomore-year figure of 92.7.
As a freshman in 2014, Watson ranked sixth in the country in deep passing, with a rating of 115.3. That number was higher than both of that year’s top quarterback prospects, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota.
