Colts-Jaguars in review: Playing times, blitzes, etc.

Back in Week 3, the Jaguars blitzed Indianapolis quarterback Matt Hasselbeck 20 times in 59 drop-backs (33.9 percent).

In Sunday’s 51-16 win, the Jaguars rushed five or more players on 19 of the 51 drop-backs (37.3 percent) by Hasselbeck and backup Charlie Whitehurst.

Not a big difference in percentage. But there were new wrinkles.

The Jaguars used two seven-man rushes — Hasselbeck was 1-of-2 passing for 41 yards.

And they used an eight-man pressure, resulting in the first Andre Branch sack. Cornerback Aaron Colvin was unblocked to force Hasselbeck off his spot. Branch was expecting to be blocked by running back Zurlon Tipton.
