Veteran Chad Henne is returning to the Jacksonville Jaguars to continue his “comfortable” role as the backup for emerging quarterback Blake Bortles.
According to Rand Getlin of NFL.com, Henne agreed to a two-year deal with the Jaguars worth $8 million on Thursday. He was scheduled to be a free agent once the new league year opened next month.
The 30-year-old quarterback instead picked his cozy situation behind Bortles over other potential opportunities around the NFL.
“Why not be here where I feel comfortable and love working with Blake?” Henne said, via Mike DiRocco of ESPN.
