Former Jaguar wide receiver Cecil Shorts thinks quarterback Blake Bortles has a bright future in the NFL.
“He’s tough,’’ Shorts said in a radio interview. “Determined to be great. I think he’ll be a superstar in this league.’’
Shorts spent four years with the Jaguars before signing with the Texans as a free agent this spring and he got off to a good start in his preseason debut with the new team, catching a 58-yard touchdown pass from Brian Hoyer in the team’s 23-10 victory over San Francisco last week.
It was the only catch for Shorts, who is a starting wide receiver for the team along with DeAndre Hopkins.
