The preseason doesn’t count for much, but when the starting offense of a team is able to rip off big chunks of yards against the opposition’s starting defense, it’s a good sign for things to come in the regular season.
That’s exactly what is happening for the Jacksonville Jaguars starting offense and quarterback Blake Bortles in particular. Through two preseason games he is 14 of 18 for 190 yards and two touchdowns. That’s good for the fifth best quarterback ratings in the NFL in the preseason (147.7).
The only starters above Bortles in quarterback rating are Teddy Bridgewater (perfect 158.
