Ace Sanders out, who’s next?

Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell announced a surprising move on Friday when the team released 2013 5th round pick Ace Sanders. Selected originally to be the primary punt returner, Sanders was forced into the starting lineup in his rookie season because of injuries to the rest of the receiving corps and he never really entrenched himself as a reliable returner.

As the primary punt returner in 2014, Sanders had 31 returns for 227 yards, good for a paltry 7.3 yards per return. He also had a fairly high-profile muffed punt in the London game against the Dallas Cowboys that set the Jaguars back a decent bit.
