There's no doubt that making the initial 53-man roster is a feat worth recognition, especially if you were an undrafted rookie or on the fringe throughout training camp. But as wide receiver Austin Trammell attested, that's just the beginning of the journey.
Less than a day after Trammell got the nod, he was released to make room for Tim Patrick, who landed in Jacksonville via trade. The silver lining is that he just got re-signed to the practice squad.
And that's the thing, teams would like to keep certain players, but they have a finite amount of roster spots.
