Wrestling: Gadson to train for 2016 Olympics

Kyven Gadson is going after the Olympics.

Gadson announced through a letter on the website Trackwrestling.com on Thursday that he will train for the 2016 Olympics.

“I don’t want to live with regret or have the thoughts in the back of my mind that I could’ve, I should’ve, or I would’ve…down the road,” Gadson wrote in the letter.

Gadson won the 197-pound NCAA championship in this, his senior year, at Iowa State. Gadson, a three-time All-American, was uncertain about training for a potential run for the 2016 Olympics when the season ended.

Gadson will try to make the American team at 97 kilograms.
