Women’s Basketball: ISU lands international guard

The Iowa State women’s basketball team received a commitment from international guard Sofija Zivaljevic, a source told the Ames Tribune.

Zivaljevic, a 2016 point/shooting guard, hails from Montenegro. She is expected to sign in April.

As a 17-year-old, Zivaljevic played on Montenegro’s U20 national team at the 2015 European Championships. She averaged 8.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in nine games.

“The skilled PG/SG players with great composure, is adept at running the team whilst also being able to take the game by the throat and score points,” said Dan Bowmaker of Blue Star Europe.
