Bridget Carleton, an incoming Iowa State women’s basketball freshman, was selected to Canada’s U19 women’s national team, according to an ISU press release.
Canada will compete in the FIBA U19 World Championship from July 17-26. Exhibition games begin on July 12.
Carleton played on the U16, U17 and U18 teams for Canada and has averaged 11.7 points in 20 international games.
“Bridget playing at the U19 world championships is a great opportunity for her,” said ISU coach Bill Fennelly in a statement. “She will playing against some of the best young players in the world and that experience will really help her as a college player.
