With the unrivaled success Iowa State volleyball has achieved under coach Christy Johnson-Lynch, it’s all but impossible to measure the program against the country’s best.
On Saturday, the Cyclones came up short, with a three-set loss to No. 3 Texas, but undeterred.
“Played well and hard at Texas,” Johnson-Lynch said at her Monday press conference, “we just weren’t good enough. We just weren’t good enough that night, and they were pretty good.
“So I wasn’t disappointed with our effort or how hard we worked at Texas. We just couldn’t stop some of their hitters and struggled passing a bit at times, but I did like how we played, or at least the effort.
