Iowa State announced Jamie Trachsel as its new head coach of its softball program Wednesday afternoon.
Trachsel comes to the Cyclones after 14 years at North Dakota State, the past six of which she has been the co-head coach as the Bison went 221-109 overall and 98-19 in the Summit League.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jamie to our family at Iowa State,” senior associate athletic director Dr. Calli Sanders said in a statement released by the school. “The winning teams she has been a part of speak for themselves, but we were equally impressed with the ever-increasing responsibilities she gained at NDSU over the years as well as her specific plans for building a championship culture at Iowa State with the expectation of advancing to post-season play.
