The Iowa State football team lost 30-23 to Toledo on Saturday night in double overtime. The game featured about every possible negative Cyclone football stereotype you could think of, including a mass of penalties (14 for 113 total yards) and a crucial missed field goal at the end of regulation.
On the first offensive possession of the game for Iowa State, the offense executed in classic ISU fashion and went three-and-out. A Sam Richardson pass to Allen Lazard on third down was ruled incomplete, even though the replay showed Lazard appeared to get his fingers between the ball and the ground.
