If there’s been one big consistency in the Iowa State offense, it’s been Charlie Kolar. The sophomore tight end has had at least 4 catches in every game this season. He has already surpassed his reception total and receiving yards from a season ago. He will have to continue to be steady all year long, especially against the TCU defense.
In typical Gary Patterson fashion, TCU will be fielding one of the better defenses that Iowa State will face all season long. However, Kolar should have at least a few opportunities to get open downfield and move the chains, as the routes that the Iowa State runs with the receivers it may end up taking some of the defensive backs away from Charlie Kolar.
