South Dakota State introduced longtime Iowa State assistant T.J. Otzelberger as its new men’s basketball coach Tuesday.
“My family and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this great university, athletic department and Brookings community,” Otzelberger said in a statement released by South Dakota State. “We’re passionate about striving for excellence on the court, on the campus and in the community, and can’t’ wait to start building those important relationships.”
Otzelberger was in his first year back in Ames after spending seven years at ISU under Greg McDermott and Fred Hoiberg before a two-year run at Washington under Lorenzo Romar.
