Jakolby Long, a 2016 guard, has committed to play men’s basketball at Iowa State.
“Coach (Steve) Prohm and his assistants just have great relationships with the players,” Long said Friday in a phone interview with the Ames Tribune. “I loved the campus (during an official visit last week).
“It felt like home.”
A 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Mustang, Okla., Long also had scholarship offers from the likes of Kansas State, Missouri and Oklahoma State, among others.
“I’m a lefty, streaky shooter,” Long said of his style of play. “And I really play defense.”
Long spent last weekend in Ames on his official visit.
