Men’s Basketball: Pollard discusses Hoiberg’s “lifelong goal” of the NBA

OTTUMWA — Iowa State men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg may have a chance this summer to achieve what his athletic director termed his “lifelong goal.”

Hoiberg, for yet another off-season, has been at the center of intense and ever-present rumor and speculation regarding jumping to an NBA job from his alma mater.

“He has always said from day one that his lifelong goal has been to coach in the NBA,” ISU athletic director Jamie Pollard said while at the first top of the annual Cyclone Tailgate Tour on Tuesday. “It’s for him to decide when that part of his life he wants to activate.
