DENVER — Maybe Iowa State can defend a little.
The No. 4 seeded Cyclones locked up Little Rock and its sudden star in a 78-61 victory Saturday in the NCAA tournament’s second round.
ISU held the Trojans to 37.0 percent shooting and limited Josh Hagins, who scored 31 in their upset of Purdue on Thursdsay, to 3 of 8 shooting and eight points.
“It just shows us we can play defense a little bit when we want to play defense,” ISU junior Monte Morris said. “That was our biggest downfall. Everybody knew we could score 100 points, but could we get a few stops?
