Iowa State forward Georges Niang was named to the United Basketball Writers Association All-America second-team on Monday.
Niang leads the Cyclones with 19.8 points. He is averaging a career-high 6.2. He is the first player in the nation since Doug McDermott in 2013-14 to enter the NCAA tournament averaging 19.0 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 80.0 percent from the foul line.
He is the fifth Cyclone to earn USBWA All-America honors.
