Iowa State forward Georges Niang earned All-Big 12 first-team honors, paving the way for three Cyclones who received preseason recognition from the league on Thursday.
Forward Deonte Burton was selected as the newcomer of the year and guard Monte Morris received honorable mention all-league honors.
Niang, who was a unanimous selection, led the Cyclones with 15.3 points last season. He also averaged 5.4 points and was second on the team with 117 assists.
