Men’s Basketball: Mitrou-Long leaves summer league game with ankle injury

WEST DES MOINES — Iowa State senior Naz Mitrou-Long was forced out of play Friday at the Capital City summer league after suffering an ankle injury.

Mitrou-Long told the Ames Tribune that he believed it to be a sprain. He had already communicated with ISU athletic trainer Vic Miller about having the right ankle examined Saturday. He is not scheduled to get an X-ray, according to an ISU spokesperson.

The 6-foot-4 guard sat out the second half of last season as a medical redshirt after both his hips did not respond as hoped following off-season surgery. He averaged 12.
