Iowa State guard Naz Long’s surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right hip “went as planned,” the school announced Thursday.
It was Long’s second surgery of the off-season as he had the same procedure done earlier on his left hip. The second surgery was initially slated to be a less serious one, but a later MRI revealed further damage and the need to repeat the operation from his left hip on his right.
The recovery is expected to take 3-to-5 months, which should put Long back on the court a month before the Cyclones’ season opener against Colorado in South Dakota.
