The buyout for new Iowa State men’s basketball coach Steve Prohm, in both the events he leaves for another job or is terminated by ISU before his deal expires, is 50 percent of what remains on the contract.
ISU released Prohm’s contract Monday upon open records requests.
Prohm’s yearly salary will begin at $1.5 million and increase by $50,000 per year through the contract, which runs through 2020.
The former Murray State coach will also be in line for bonuses should he lead ISU to a Final Four ($250,000), a regular season conference championship ($100,000) or a postseason conference title ($50,000).
