Ames, it seemed like a nice place. Steve Prohm told his wife as much when he figured the Iowa State men’s basketball job would come open - back after the Chicago Bulls season ended in May.
But he never gave it another thought.
“(At) That point it was far fetched,” Prohm said.
By Tuesday it was his new reality. You can excuse Prohm if he’s still asking how he got it.
His life drastically changed in a 72-hour time period, resulting in his ISU introductory press conference where he was still getting his footing.
“Everything seems so big,” Prohm said, “regardless if you are in a small town, when you don’t know anything.
