Men’s Basketball: Hoiberg thinks Bulls have “championship potential”, will always “be a Cyclone”

Fred Hoiberg was introduced as the Chicago Bulls head coach during a press conference on Tuesday. The former Iowa State men’s basketball coach spent nearly 50 minutes talking to the media about his relationship with the front office, why he thinks the Bulls are a championship contender and always being a Cyclone.

But he started out his prepared remarks by talking about leaving ISU and Ames behind, especially his old team.

“The hardest thing about leaving Iowa State is the players that I had built such a great relationship with,” Hoiberg said.

He also pointed out that he was “looking forward” watching the Cyclones play and “hopefully compete for a national title.
