Former Iowa State men’s basketball player and coach Fred Hoiberg has been elected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame, it was announced Thursday.
Hoiberg, an All-American in 1995, earned academic All-American twice during his career at ISU before being selected in the 1995 NBA draft.
“Being named a CoSIDA Academic All-American at Iowa State was one of the highlights of my career,” Hoiberg said in a statement. “To be inducted into the CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame is even more humbling.”
Drew Brees, Jennifer Rizzotti, Dr. Angelo Capozzi and James Cash join Hoiberg as part of this year’s class.
