Men’s Basketball: Hoiberg reportedly to agree to five-year deal with Bulls

The Hoiberg Watch continues on, but the outcome may only be a formality at this point.

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reported on Saturday that the Chicago Bulls and Iowa State men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg will agree to a five-year $25 million contract once he is cleared by team doctors. Hoiberg underwent open heart surgery in April.

Those are the same contract figures first-time NBA head coach Steve Kerr received from Golden State last off-season.

The Bulls fired coach Tom Thibodeau on Thursday. The pending divorce between the Bulls and Thibodeau was widely reported in recent months.
