Men’s Basketball: Coaches pick ISU third in Big 12

The Iowa State men’s basketball team has been picked to finish third in the Big 12 by the league’s coaches, it was announced Thursday.

Kansas is once again the favorite, earning nine first-place votes in the preseason poll. The Jayhawks have won at least a piece of the conference title in 11 consecutive seasons. Oklahoma finished second with ISU, which received one first-place vote, two points behind in third.

Texas and new coach Shaka Smart were the pick at four while Baylor was fifth. West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, TCU and Texas Tech rounded out the rest of the league.
