DENVER – Wes Flanigan knew the congratulatory message would be coming. Daniyal Robinson does it after every Little Rock victory.
He also knew it wouldn’t end there on Thursday. Not with Robinson’s Iowa State team now in position to play Flanigan’s Little Rock team in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
“He told me that we’ll be trying to win too,” said Flanigan, the Trojan associate head coach. “He won’t just give it to us.”
The ISU-Little Rock matchup tonight (5:10 p.m., TNT), will be a unique one for Robinson. He’ll be facing off against Flanigan, one of his best friends, and his alma mater.
