Loyola’s backcourt got richer Saturday as former Iowa State guard Clayton Custer tweeted that he has committed to the Ramblers. Custer, a 6-foot-1 guard, will have three years of eligibility at Loyola, starting in the 2016-17 season.

Custer was a borderline top-100 recruit out of high school, where he was teammates with Loyola guard Ben Richardson at Blue Valley Northwestern in Kansas. In his freshman season at Iowa State, Custer played just 5.8 minutes per game and cited lack of playing time as a reason for transferring.
Custer, who visited Loyola this weekend, had also visited Creighton last week.
