Dan McCarney stood in front of his old program. Passion and energy flowed from him like he was an energy source.
McCarney bounced around the room, back where he belonged, his excitement visible to every Iowa State player.
“I’m so fricking jacked,” McCarney said.
He was for his entire time in Ames, a four day experience that was 10 years in the making. The former Iowa State football coach returned to the site of his greatest glory.
And the entire experience was a merging of two lanes, one of reliving memories from the past and another doing what he can to return the Cyclones to glory.
