Georges Niang heard about the leaked NCAA tournament bracket. He wasn’t sure if he should believe it until he saw No. 4 and No. 5 seeds getting sent to Denver in the Midwest region.
He knew No. 4 Iowa State would open against No. 13 Iona before CBS unveiled it and an ideal draw for the Cyclones.
They are the top seed in their pod. They’re the most talented team. It’s as clear of a path as a four seed could hope for from Selection Sunday.
“We have a great opportunity,” Niang said.
He’s right.
