DENVER – The question was about an Iowa State devastating postseason moment.
Naz Mitrou-Long didn’t hesitate. He went into the disappointment and despair, the pain flying out of his face with every word he spoke.
“Worst feeling in the world,” he said.
There was only one problem. Mitrou-Long was asked about an NCAA tournament experience from two years ago. He answered about losing to UAB last year.
That’s the thing. The first-round loss to the Blazers has hung over the Cyclones for 12 months. Everything since was about getting back to the big dance for another crack at the postseason.
