The recruiting train in Ames is still rolling. The momentum has continued on Friday night with the commitment of 3-star wide receiver Jason Essex. The pipeline to Kansas City continues to grow and the 2022 recruiting class for Iowa State becomes even more impressive.
Essex is a 6ft 3in wide receiver with an 85 overall composite rating according to 247sports. He held offers from Arkansas, Arizona, Kentucky and Colorado. He took his official visit to Ames on June 4th.
This is the first commitment of the weekend which could leave Iowa State with two wide receivers by the end of the weekends.
