Cyclones open up No. 1 in region
The Iowa State women’s cross country team begins the season ranked No. 1 in the midwest region in the national coaches poll. The men’s team will open the season ranked No. 2 in the region.
The women’s team is a five-time defending regional champion and also won the last four Big 12 titles.
ISU won the midwest regional title in 2014.
The men’s team returns 2014 NCAA qualifier Dan Curtis. Also, Thomas Pollard, from Gilbert, is a true freshman. Pollard was a two-time All-American in high school.
