ISU RB who shot self in hand arrested for OVI

Iowa State Cyclones running back Sheldon Croney made headlines last May when he accidentally shot himself in the hand, and now he’s back in the news for the wrong reasons once again.

According to Bobby La Gesse of The Ames Tribune, Croney was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and has been suspended from the team. He allegedly was asleep at the wheel of his car, and La Gesse’s report offered more.

The responding officer found Croney unconscious in a running vehicle, according to the Story County court records. Croney didn’t respond when the officer tried to wake him by pounding on the windows and shaking the car, and didn’t wake up until the officer used unlock tools to gain access to the inside of the car.
