Texas-San Antonio grad transfer Jeff Beverly announced his commitment to Iowa State during his visit to Ames today. The 6-foot-6, 250 pound forward averaged 15.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game as he started all 33 games for the Roadrunners.
The commitment shouldn’t come as a surprise to those following Iowa State’s recruiting efforts this spring, as Beverly has appeared in several interviews singing the praises of Steve Prohm and the Cyclones, including Tuesday when he told Randy Peterson of the Des Moines Register he planned on committing during his visit.
For those unfamiliar with Beverly’s game, the new Cyclone has described his game as an undersized, mismatch forward, hoping to follow in the path of others in his mold like Deonte Burton.
