Fred Hoiberg will be officially introduced as the new head coach of the Chicago Bulls this afternoon. Hoiberg comes to the Windy City by way of his alma mater, Iowa State, where he transformed the Cyclone program into a national-caliber, Big 12 title-winning outfit during his five seasons in charge.
Hoiberg grew up in Ames, Ia., and goes by the nickname “The Mayor” for what he’s meant to the community during his time there. He clearly had a profound impact on his ISU players, several of whom posted heartfelt tributes to him on social media.
