Iowa State announces its Male Athletes of the Year

Iowa State named ISU track and field middle-distance runner Edward Kemboi and wrestler Kyven Gadson as its co-Male Athletes of the Year on Tuesday. It was the fourth time in the award's 68-year history that two athletes were named.

Kemboi won the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championship in the 800-meter run for his senior season. The title was the first at the outdoor national meet by a Cyclone since Dmitry Drozdov won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 1996.

Earlier in the year, Kemboi won the Indoor NCAA Championship in the same event, making him the second consecutive runner to sweep the event in the NCAA.
