It was announced early Tuesday morning that Iowa Athletic Director Gary Barta has issued a far-reaching cease and desist order regarding the color black on uniforms.
Iowa, as it is widely known, not only discovered the color black nearly 18,000 years ago, but was the first team to put the color on their uniforms.
“While we have tolerated the Pittsburgh Steelers copying our uniforms for years, this trend of black uniforms across sports and popular culture just became too much for us to bare”, said Gary Barta to the assembled media. “Teams in every sport and people in all walks of life are now are stealing this color concept from us, and we felt that now was the time for action.
