How the Heisman voting for Breece Hall shook out

Alabama’s Devonte Smith took home the trophy this season, the first wide receiver since Desmond Howard to win the award. However sitting in sixth place is our own Breece Hall, becoming the first Cyclone to finish in the top ten since Troy Davis.

Hall’s breakout 2020 season, in which he led the country in rushing, resulted in six first place votes, ten second place votes, and twenty-six third place votes.

Breece finished the season with 1,572 rushing yards on 279 attempts (5.6 YPC) and 21 rushing touchdowns, which equaled Troy Davis’ single season rushing touchdown record on 123 fewer carries.
