Hot bats dooms ISU softball against Kansas

In the first, Kansas jumped to an early 1-0 lead.

Brittany Gomez opened up the batting for the Cyclones when she hit a double up the middle to center field, which gave her the all-time hit record at Iowa State with 217 hits in her career thus far. Unfortunately, Iowa State was not able to capitalize as it left Gomez on third base and senior Maddie Reese at second to close out the first.

The Cyclones tied the game up at one apiece in the second inning when Gomez hit an RBI single to bring home junior Sammie Hildreth.
