But like last year, the senior was the highlight of the show for the Cyclones. She finished sixth in the event with a mark of 56 feet 2.75 inches.
Hillman was the third ISU athlete to compete for the Cyclones on Thursday night. Iowa State's lone freshman who qualified for nationals finished in 13th place in the long jump with a 20-feet-4.25-inch mark.
Kendra White followed Luque in the 400-meter dash. The senior made her nationals debut and finished 14th with a 52.
