Golden State Warrior and Ames, Iowa, native Harrison Barnes will serve as the grand marshal for the 4th of July parade in downtown Ames.
Barnes is part of the Warriors team that won the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers in six games.
Barnes played all 82 games for the Warriors in the 2014-15 season and averaged 10.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
He played in 21 games during the Warriors' playoff run and averaged 10.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
“It truly is a privilege to participate in the Ames 4th of July Independence Day Parade,” Barnes said in a news release sent out by the Main Street Cultural District.
