It’s no secret that Iowa State Cyclones head coach Fred Hoiberg has been linked to and wants the Chicago Bulls head coaching job, and now it appears that union could become a reality.
According to Randy Petersen of the Des Moines Register, Hoiberg could be named as the team’s head coach as early as Tuesday. Per Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, the deal is worth $25 million over five years. That’s a hefty price tag for someone with no NBA head coaching experience.
But it’s hard to ignore how much success Hoiberg has had with Iowa State despite not ever being an NBA coach.
